Dear Colleagues, to refer your patients to our practice, please follow these steps:

1. Email Relevant Information: Send any pertinent medical notes and existing diagnostics (e.g., bloodwork, radiographs) to surgery@vssaustin.com. We only require information related to the referral, not the full medical history.
2. Client Registration: Ask the pet owner to complete our new client registration HERE.

Once we receive and review all information, we will contact the client to discuss the next steps. Please note that due to high case volume, non-emergent surgeries are currently scheduled about 3-6 weeks out.

Important: Time-sensitive cases—including fractures, osteosarcoma, perineal urethrostomies (PU), and splenic masses—are prioritized and typically reviewed within 2 business days (Monday to Thursday).

Please remember that we are not an emergency clinic. For life-threatening conditions, contact the nearest emergency clinic immediately.
