Referring Veterinarians

Dear Colleagues, to refer your patients to our practice, please follow these steps:

Email Relevant Information: Send any pertinent medical notes and existing diagnostics (e.g., bloodwork, radiographs) to surgery@vssaustin.com. We only require information related to the referral, not the full medical history.
NEW clients: Ask the pet owner to complete our new client registration HERE.
Established clients: Don’t need to register again. Please refer to item #1.

Once we receive and review all information, we will contact the client to discuss the next steps. Please note that due to high case volume, non-emergent surgeries are currently scheduled about 4-8 weeks out.

Important: Time-sensitive cases—including fractures, osteosarcoma, perineal urethrostomies (PU), and splenic masses—are prioritized and typically reviewed within 2 business days (Monday to Thursday).

Please remember that we are not an emergency clinic. For life-threatening conditions, contact the nearest emergency clinic immediately.
